JetCycle to unveil exciting new pedal boat model at bootDüsseldorf

JetCycle, the French startup known for their innovative designs in the leisure marine sector, will reveal their latest pedal boat model, the E JetCycle, during bootDüsseldorf this month.

So far, JetCycle has raised a total of €1.5M in pre-seed funding, including €700k in equity, and this latest launch solidifies their reputation as industry innovators, as they continue to listen to the wants and needs of their customers.

Pioneering the future of exercise on the water

Taking place from the 20th to the 28th of January, bootDüsseldorf is the world's largest yacht and watersports show, featuring 1,500 exhibitors across 16 halls and anticipating 237,000 visitors. After months of product development and iterations, the JetCycle team will launch their latest product during the show. The launch of the E JetCycle follows a successful prototype showcase at the Cannes Yachting Festival last autumn.

Foiling technology has become increasingly popular in the past few years due to its ability to enhance water activities without negatively impacting the marine environment. As advancements continue, foiling is playing an increasingly central role in shaping the future of watersports.

Founded in 2020, JetCycle specialises in the design and manufacturing of pedal boats tailored for watersports and nautical leisure activities. Nicolas Picard, the director of JetCycle, led the development of the inaugural model, the JetCycle Max, in 2021. With over a decade of experience in managing startups and SMEs, particularly in the defence and security sector, Picard's expertise in marketing and a robust background in finance and business development guided him to a project aligned with his values and passions at JetCycle.

The JetCycle Max, powered entirely by human effort, has garnered attention from cyclists, notably the 8-time world champion and JetCycle ambassador, Francois Pervis. Pervis, utilising the JetCycle Max in his training for an upcoming race, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: "When I witnessed the JetCycle gliding on the water for the first time, I knew I had to give it a try. To ensure optimal preparation for my world record attempt with my flatbed recumbent bike, I chose to incorporate the JetCycle into my training regimen. JetCycle undoubtedly has a promising future, and I am genuinely proud to be part of this adventure."

Introducing an enhanced premium model with increased accessibility

In a bid to enhance accessibility, the E JetCycle integrates hybrid drive technology for greater ease of use. The enhanced premium model boasts a durable battery providing up to three hours of autonomy and outstanding stability due to its trimaran hull. Intuitive flight and direction controls make it accessible to all users, complemented by an adjustable pedal system based on user size. Moreover, the product prioritises environmental friendliness with no noise and zero emissions.

The E JetCycle exudes a weightier and more formidable look, courtesy of the left and right side hulls, which not only enhance its appearance but also contribute to stability, making the boat overall more user-friendly. The broad arms connecting the side hulls to the central hull serve a dual purpose as swim platforms so that users can easily climb back on from the water.

Picard comments: “We were very proud to launch a world first two years ago with the JetCycle Max, but this model is less accessible for the average user as it requires power, cardio and balance. The E JetCycle is the perfect answer to this accessibility challenge”.

The new model is set to answer the prayers of yacht owners, beach clubs and marine resorts, who are seeking to invest in a more accessible water accessory. The E JetCycle is ideal for clients who may have been previously apprehensive about foiling.

Picard added: “The ideal customer for our new E JetCycle product is someone who appreciates more sustainable water-based leisure activities, while at the same time being in tune with the premium experience they are used to in the world of yachting and waterside resorts.

The E JetCycle will be presented in Hall 3, Stand E26 during the bootDüsseldorf show.
