E-Force Marine debuts Aurora E-Drive for boats, offering up to 72% energy savings

The Miami based startup is addressing the growing market demand by boaters for zero emissions, less maintenance and less environmental impact.

E-Force Marine, a marine electric vehicle (EV) enterprise focusing on electric boats, electric drive systems, and electric charging infrastructures, today announced the launch of its 100-200KW Aurora E-Drive. Aurora E-Drive comprises a significant power source for a new generation of electric boats. It can deliver up to 72% savings in energy for a boat. With Aurora E-Drive, E-Force Marine is taking the lead in the industry’s inevitable shift to electric-power boats.

“We are excited to be one of the first global businesses to join the marine industry’s adoption of electric  power,” said Al Hagheyegh, owner and CEO of E-Force Marine.

E-Force’s business model is based, in part, on a growing consensus that marine transportation will be  converting to electric power in the near future. Concerns about emissions and sustainability affect the  marine industry, as they do other areas of the economy. As Hagheyegh explained, “The marine industry's shift to electric has been long overdue. E-Force Marine is ahead of the curve and ready to help new  adopters to make the switch.”

During the height of the pandemic, I was spending a lot of time on the water to ‘ditch the mask’ and became interested in converting my boat to electric power,” Hagheyegh said. “I spent a lot of time at sea  and did a lot of research about alternative power for boats. I pitched my idea to several different companies in search of partners interested in transforming boats from gas to electric power.” When Hagheyegh became frustrated with the lack of U.S. interest in converting boat power he founded E-Force Marine, which his family has run for the past two years.

Once Al and his children, Arman and Roxana, joined the business, the family converted their boat, and it turned out to be one of the first electric-power prototypes to launch their new venture. Al explained “Our home, Miami, has a global reputation as a premier marine industry hub. Miami is known for its vibrant  maritime sector, with some of the most expensive yachts spending time moored here or in yacht club slips.”

The family is designing their own craft and working on strategic partnerships and relationships with boat  manufacturers. The business will provide customizable electric drive systems, based on a client’s specifications. The goal is to offer tailor-made Aurora E-Drive systems to boat manufacturers.
