Abu Dhabi International Boat Show expands innovation hub in response to surging interest

ADIBS is thrilled to announce the expansion of its Innovation Hub in partnership with Yachting Ventures, which will be dedicated to supporting CleanTech and sustainable startups within the leisure marine and yachting industries.

Scheduled to take place from 9th-12th November, ADIBS is organised by Capital Events as part of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) Group. Now in its fifth year, ADIBS is quickly earning a reputation as a leading platform for the marine industry in the Middle East, attracting top-tier exhibitors, industry professionals, and yachting enthusiasts.

Showcasing CleanTech and sustainability is a clear priority for the show this year under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. As a result, ADIBS is excited to announce that it will expand the Innovation Hub in partnership with Yachting Ventures. The expansion is primarily in response to the overwhelming interest in the Innovation Hub and demand from industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts in both the UAE and internationally. This recent decision to expand the Innovation Hub is a testament to the region’s continuous efforts to stay at the forefront of progress and provide a platform for ground breaking ideas.

CleanTech: A Pivotal Focus for a Sustainable Future

At the beginning of the year, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared that 2023 will be the “Year of Sustainability” in the UAE. The Year of Sustainability aims to showcase the UAE’s commitment towards fostering a global collaboration in seeking innovative solutions to challenges, such as energy, climate change and other pressing issues related to sustainability. The Year of Sustainability has particular significance as the UAE prepares to host the 28th United Nations climate change summit, Conference of Parties (COP28) starting November 30th 2023.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan's patronage signals a clear direction for ADIBS, which will emphasize CleanTech solutions that align with the region's commitment to environmental sustainability. As the world grapples with the challenges of climate change, CleanTech, or clean technology, emerges as a pivotal solution to mitigate environmental impact while fostering economic growth.

The expanded Innovation Hub now accommodating 15 startups, will serve as a nucleus for CleanTech exhibitors, start-ups and investors to converge and showcase their innovations. From electric propulsion systems to renewable energy solutions and eco-friendly materials, ADIBS will highlight the most promising advancements that address the maritime industry's environmental footprint.

As the show opens its doors to the world on 9th November 2023, it will undoubtedly inspire a wave of innovation, transforming the maritime landscape and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.
